14th Annual Equipment and Education Conference: Feb. 25th, 2011

After record attendance of more than 750 attendees in 2010, we are gearing up for our Annual Equipment and Education Conference for healthcare professionals.

This year’s conference will feature Karen Kaiser Clark as our Keynote Speaker. Kaiser Clark is an “engaging speaker who has been a source of inspiration, humor, hope and healing for audiences for more than 25 years.” Two of our general sales team members, Sue Norman and Souk Chanthavixay, saw her speak at a conference and said that “she makes you laugh, she makes you cry, and she makes you want to be a better person.” We feel she is a perfect speaker to get the event started. Seasonal Affective Disorder, once referred to as the “winter blues”, is now widely recognized type of depression that occurs the same time yearly for individuals who are affected by it. According to the Mayo Clinic causes of this disorder are all in part due to the change in season and the lack of sunlight which can play tricks on your body’s circadian rhythm, melatonin and serotonin levels leaving you feel moody and depressed. Staying Healthy is as Easy as 1,2,3

As much as we don’t want to acknowledge it, cold and flu season is upon us. In order to stay healthy this season, follow these simple tips:

  1. Get the flu shot. I know what you’re thinking – needles are scary. I am also not a big fan of needles and shots which is why I didn’t get my first flu shot until three years ago.  And although I did get a couple of viruses (the shots can only block against so many strains), I haven’t been as sick since I starting getting the vaccine.  My advice is to take a deep breath, go to your “happy place” and it will be over before you know it.According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) flu activity is at its peak in January and February so you still have plenty of time to get vaccinated.  Contact your clinic or various retail stores (Cub Foods, Walgreens, Target are a few that advertise flu shots) for an appointment or for their walk-in hours Read more
