Handi Medical team members: Shelly, Laurie, Nick and Matt stop to pose with some of the Pageant of Hope Princesses.

The Pageant of Hope’s Charity Golf Tournament was held at Majestic Oaks Golf Club on June 26th.  It was a beautiful day for golf! More than 10 Princesses were on the course to give out treats and encourage the golfers. One of the princesses helped us putt, one helped tee off; they were phenomenal! Everyone had a great time. From the People for Quality Care June 2012 Newsletter:

People for Quality Care is fighting against Medicare’s competitive bidding, but we can’t do it alone. We have seen the negative impact that competitive bidding has had on home medical equipment users, caregivers and providers, and we know that these effects will get worse if we don’t stop it now.

People for Quality Care has the tools you need to make your voice heard. We can offer your group or business brochures and FAQs that explain competitive bidding, letters to the editor to send to local papers, petitions and letters to your local legislators, newsletters, postcards and more. Materials are available at little or no cost. We have experts in the field who can answer your questions and help you plan your strategy in the most effective ways.

All you need to do is take the first step. Click on this link www.peopleforqualitycare.org/fight. Take the pledge to keep fighting and tell us what you need or ask us how to get started. We can win this fight, but we have to do it together. Take the first step today!

In April 2012, CMS reported that there were few complaints about Medicare’s competitive bidding and that the program was a huge money-saving success all-around. People for Quality Care, VGM Group, HME providers, beneficiaries and caregivers disagree.

People for Quality Care, the advocacy division of VGM Group, Inc., has sponsored the I’m Still Fighting Pledge for less than a month and more than 300 providers throughout the country are pledging to engage their customers in the fight against competitive bidding. Read more
